List every cost
Flights, accommodation, local transport, food, activities, insurance and shopping.
Research real prices
Use prices for the dates you'll travel, not another time of year.
Keep a buffer
Set aside around 10% to 20% extra for surprises.
Save little by little
Divide the total by the months until your trip and set that amount aside each month.
